spy gadgetsSpy Gadgets – James Bond has nothing on these

These days, you don’t need CIA training to be a secret agent or amateur sleuth. In fact, you don’t even need be out of school yet. Gadgets which do all the cool James Bond stuff, and more, are available for less than the price of Daniel Craig’s autograph, and you don’t need a security clearance to get your hands on them either.

So, let’s put on our USB-powered spy glasses and take a closer look at a few of the slicker spy gadgets for the kid with an eye on a career in the ‘I’. That’s FBI.

Spy Motion Alarm

If you suspect certain family or friends with sticky fingers are raiding your Mars Bar collection, Spy Gear’s Spy Motion Alarm will catch them ‘red-handed’, as the maker’s website claims. Unless, we assume, they  are moving very slowly while they do it. Its 1.5m range of detection should be enough for most bedrooms. Just put it near the door and wait for your sneaky little friend to arrive. Requires two AAA batteries.

The maker’s web site says it’s not available in the USA. Maybe it works a little too well?

Night Vision Goggles

Instead of infrared, these Night Vision Goggles, also from Spy Gear, use a pair of super-bright, ice cool blue LED lights to guide you through the dark during those night time sorties. For extra visual acuity, a fold-out magnifying scope is included, with crosshairs for accurate aiming of your Super Soaker water cannon.

They have a viewing distance of up to 25 feet, which should be enough for most after-dark backyard battles. They are impact resistant, and powered by four AAA batteries.

Wild Planet Spy Gear Evidence Kit All-In-One Inspection Set

If your friend found a way to fool the motion sensor, you’re going to need this to find out who exactly it was. The All-In-One Inspection Set has everything you need to nail the culprit, including a fingerprint kit, a 30X microscope, UV backlight and a neat fold-up carrying case for those field jobs. Ages 6 and up.

Undercover Girl Secret Listener

Why should the girls be left out of the spy game? The Secret Listener looks like a regular CD player, but it’s actually concealing a powerful microphone which can pick up sounds from up to 30 feet away. The ear buds let you listen in without them knowing, and the notepad and pen will help make sure you don’t miss a word of their clandestine conversation.

Conclusions

The spy game has evolved well beyond magnifying glasses and smoke signals. Spy gadgets like these will give the budding spy master the head start needed before he or she goes on to save the world for real.
